2022 – present: 5SOS5
5SOS released "Complete Mess" as the title song of their fifth studio album on March 2, 2022. The band went on the postponed Take My Hand World Tour on April 3 2022, initially scheduled for 2020. They revealed their fifth studio album, 5SOS5, in May 2022, and it was published on September 23, 2022. This album is the band's first release through BMG Rights Management. The band's Take My Hand Global Tour began on November 30, 2022.

2019 – 2022: Calm
The band released "Easier" with their new label, Interscope Records, on May 23, 2019. Calm, the band's fourth studio album, was announced on February 5, 2020, and would be published on March 27, 2020. On September 23, 2020, Irwin confirmed the release of his solo album, Superbloom, on October 23, 2020. He is the first band member to produce a solo album. Hemmings released his debut solo record, When Facing the Things We Turn Away From, on August 13, 2021.

2017 – 2018: Youngblood
The band launched the song "Want You Back" on February 22, 2018. Following the publication of "Want You Back", the band revealed a 2018 promotional tour called 5SOS III. The tour started on March 20, 2018 and concluded on June 6, 2018. The band revealed on April 9, 2018, that their third studio record, Youngblood, would be released on June 22, 2018. The band's fourth major global tour is the Meet You There World Tour.

2015 – 2016: Sounds Good Feels Good
The band published "She's Kinda Hot" as the first song from their second studio album, which would be called Sounds Good Feels Good, on July 17, 2015. After years of rigorous travelling and completing the Sounds Live Feels Live World Tour in October 2016, the band declared that they would be taking a break and developing the sound for their next studio record for the rest of the year. The hiatus extended for nearly two years.

2014: 5 Seconds of Summer self-titled
The band's song "She Looks So Perfect" was published in the United Kingdom in late March 2014. The band stated on May 13, 2014, that their debut self-titled album would be published on June 27, 2014. The album's musical roots are in pop-punk, pop-rock, and power-pop. Between May and September 2015, 5 Seconds of Summer went on their first worldwide solo tour, Rock Out with Your Socks Out Tour, to support the record.

2012 - 2013: Somewhere New EP
5 Seconds of Summer spent the second part of 2012 composing and developing their sound with Australian band Amy Meredith's Christan Lo Russo and Joel Chapman. The band's first song, "Out of My Limit," was published on November 19, 2012. They came to worldwide prominence while touring on the Take Me Home Tour of the English- Irish boy band One Direction. Following that, they rejoined One Direction for their Where We Are Tour.
